The Australian Civilian Corps

Good afternoon,

The Australian Civilian Corps received an extremely strong response to its recent call for Expressions of Interest, thank you to those who responded. AusAID is again seeking highly motivated and experienced stabilisation and recovery personnel to join the Australian Civilian Corps Register.

The Australian Civilian Corps deploys stabilisation and recovery specialists on fixed term assignments to countries experiencing or emerging from natural disaster or conflict. Typically you will support the Australian Government’s efforts to strengthen governance and state function arrangements, facilitate early recovery processes and prepare the frameworks for longer-term development.

Civilian specialists will:

  • remain in their regular employment until accepting a deployment
  • be engaged as Commonwealth employees when deployed
  • be Australian citizens with at least five years relevant experience
  • have relevant experience within complex environments
  • be able to work in challenging overseas environments
  • typically be deployed for 3 – 12 months to countries recovering from natural disaster or conflict.

The Australian Civilian Corps is seeking stabilisation and recovery specialists in the following areas:

  • Agriculture/livelihoods
  • Education administration
  • Electoral
  • Engineering and planning
  • Health administration
  • Humanitarian aid coordination
  • Law and justice
  • Needs assessment, planning and monitoring
  • Public financial management / economics
  • Public sector management
  • Stabilisation and recovery.
